Lubine is a tiny village lost in the forests of the Vosges. Home to around 250 people, it is almost entirely surrounded by woodland – forests cover about 95 % of the commune. The River Fave rises here, and the village lies within the Ballons des Vosges regional nature park, on the border with Alsace.
